Bebe Au Lait Style Nursing Cover

I have been wanting to do some sewing for ages, and have been looking for projects suitable to make with my very limited fabric stash. I have been looking at apron tutorials for a while now, and yesterday I came across this nursing cover tutorial and thought to try and make one for my sister who has a newborn that might need breastfeeding when she is out in public. I measured out some fabric and found I have the EXACT amount of fabric for this project. I literally mean I only trimmed off the selvedge and straightened it out and was done with it.
I am very happy with it, my sewing looks very clean, but I will make another one with a slightly heavier material as this cotton was very lightweight.

I will take a better picture soon, my daughter kept grabbing it so I had to hang it on the cords of the blinds, forgetting that the light will affect my shot.

Say hello to Ted

FINALLY HE IS DONE!!!! I managed to get all the seaming done in one day, which is insane because it has taken me days trying to attach the head alone but I kept un-doing it. Geez it was fiddly and stressful and all those curvy bits!!! AAARRGH. I do realise It was difficult because of my inexperience in seaming up toys and hopefully it'll be easier next time round (which is definetely not any time in the near future).

He isn't perfect, One arm is slightly higher up than the other and is positioned a bit differently, but at this point in time my 1 yr old is gonna tug and pull at him so i'm not gonna worry (Which is very hard because I know I am able to fix it).

So yay to me for finally finishing, he is off my conscience and there is peace at last.

Why don't you say hello?
